Our HVOF coating hydraulic cylinder rods are engineered for extreme durability and reliability in the most demanding industrial environments. Using advanced High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray technology, we apply a premium tungsten carbide-cobalt-chromium (WC-CoCr) coating that delivers outstanding wear resistance, superior corrosion protection, and significantly longer service life compared to conventional hard chrome plating.

Also commonly referred to as HVOF coating piston rods, these components feature a dense, well-bonded coating layer that ensures excellent performance under heavy loads and harsh conditions. By eliminating the use of toxic hexavalent chromium, our HVOF process also provides an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plating methods.

How the HVOF Process Works

In the HVOF process, fuel is burned with oxygen to create a high-velocity gas stream. Tungsten carbide, cobalt, and chromium powder particles are injected into this stream, becoming semi-molten and propelled at supersonic speeds toward the rod surface. This creates a dense, low-porosity coating with exceptional adhesion and mechanical properties — far superior to electroplated chrome or other conventional coatings.
